Zoë Kravitz Ushers in “Jeans and a Nice Boot” Season

Fashion is a system of obsolescence, where few things endure quite as much as the phrase “jeans and a nice top”. That is generally something people say after a period of painful deliberation, where they run through their wardrobe in their mind, thinking of all the weird and wonderful things they might put together for a girl’s night out. But, in the end, “jeans and a nice top” will always come up trumps.
Unless you happen to live in the UK (where people refuse to wear a coat on a night out even in the most extreme weather conditions) stepping out in nothing but high-waisted jeans and a sequined cami is unlikely to be an alluring concept. And so, I would suggest looking to Zoë Kravitz, who has offered an alternative solution to this most time-worn combination: ie, jeans and a nice boot. She wore both of those things while dining with Channing Tatum and Riley Keough in Los Angeles last night.z
With an olive-hued tote bag hooked over her shoulder, Kravitz dressed in an unstructured woollen coat with generously-cut denim and a pair of zip-up, combat-inspired boots she acquired long ago from The Row. But here’s a paradox to all of this: women who dress in, well, less, are less susceptible to feeling the cold. That is a scientific fact backed up in a 2021 study by the British Journal of Social Psychology, which means that, yet again, the “jeans and a nice top” approach is perhaps the most reliable of all.
