When Zion Williamson takes the court next season, he’ll do so with a new motivation. The 22-year-old, who stole the basketball world’s attention in high school and at Duke, is expecting a baby girl with his partner, Ahkeema.
Zion and Ahkeema broke the news today in a YouTube video highlighting their recent gender reveal party. Take a look at the footage below.
“My baby, you’re going to see this at some point. I don’t know what the future holds, but mommy and daddy love you. If you don’t know nothing else in this world, know that mommy and daddy love you,” Williamson emotionally said to his unborn child.
Messages congratulating Williamson and his partner poured in.

A huge season awaits Williamson, as he signed a five-year extension with the New Orleans Pelicans worth $194.3 million. He hasn’t yet tapped into his potential in the NBA, participating in fewer than 30 games in two of his three seasons.
