Your guide to 2023 Easter events happening in Flint, Genesee County

GENESEE COUNTY, MI – Many families in Flint and Genesee County are gearing up to celebrate Easter this Sunday, April 9.

As usual, the county is filled with activities centered around the holiday.

Community organizations and leaders are hosting several events.

Here’s a look at several events coming up this week and weekend:

Flushing Firefighter’s Easter Egg Hunt

The Flushing Fire Department will host an Easter egg hunt at noon Saturday, April 8 at Flushing Riverview Park, 230 S. Cherry St., in Flushing.

Arrive by 11:30 a.m. to take in the Easter Bunny arriving by fire truck. Egg hunt starts at noon. Also candy bags for all and if you’re lucky enough to find an egg with a special sticker, you can turn it in for a prize.

Easter at Catholic Charities North End Soup Kitchen

Catholic Charities is hosting its annual Easter dinner and Easter basket give-away from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 9.

The facility is located at 735 E. Stewart Ave. in Flint.

Children must be present to receive the basket.

GTKIDS Easter Egg Hunt

Easter service begins Sunday, April 9, at Glad Tidings, 4475 Linden Road, in Flint.

The event begins at 11 a.m. and is followed by a huge egg hunt and petting farm.

Registration check-in is from 10:30-11 a.m. with the church service beginning at 11 a.m.

After the 11 a.m. service, the egg hunt and activities for the kids begins.

Eggnormous Helicopter Hunt

Come on out for this free, family friendly event Sunday, April 9 at The River Church, located at 2361 N. Irish Road, in Davison Township.

Enjoy a fun program full of giveaways and prizes, then head over to the egg hunt area where a helicopter will drop hundreds of eggs from the sky.

All participants will receive candy and several will find a lucky egg for additional prizes.

The egg hunt is open for children 0-11 years old.

Hunt areas are separated by age to ensure the safety of younger participants.

Adult Egg Hunt Presented by the Grand Blanc Moose Lodge

Adults 21 and over are invited to come out and hunt for eggs hidden all over the park that contain golden tickets redeemable for prizes on Friday, April 14.

Located at Creasey Bicentennial Park, 1505 E. Grand Blanc Rd. in Grand Blanc Township, the event begins at 6:30 p.m.

You don’t have to be a track star to enjoy this event, but walking is required.

Don’t feel like walking? Buy a ticket and enjoy the food, music, raffles, and games.

If you choose not to follow the rules, you will be disqualified from participation and unable to redeem any prizes.

The cost is $25 per person.

Local comedian and Flint restaurant team up for Easter basket giveaway

Hood Morning and V’s Drive Thru have partnered to bring Easter joy to underserved and financially disenfranchised communities.

The family focused community event will take place from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, April 8 at V’s Drive Thru, G-4189 Corunna Road, in Flint.

The event will feature a live DJ, pictures with the Easter bunny, free hot dogs and hamburgers, and activities for families to enjoy. The first 500 youth attendees will receive an Easter basket filled with treats and goodies.

“Our goal is to make it to the top WITH the community,” said comedian Cheesestixxs, founder of Hood Morning. “We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and this event is our way of giving back and making a positive impact on the youth in our community. The youth need more exposure to mentors, leaders, and positive events that will help mold their future.”

Eggciting Easter Event in Fenton

Families are invited to hop around town visiting participating businesses to collect goodies and treats to fill their Easter baskets on Thursday, April 6.

Located at 104 S. Adelaide St. in Fenton, several businesses will have event signage up from 1-6 p.m. on Thursday that welcomes families to stop in and grab an Easter treat.

Some businesses may close at their usual business hours.
