‘You need to leave’- Arsenal fans destroy William Saliba as new footage emerges
Saliba #Saliba
Arsenal fans have demolished William Saliba for his fatal error in their victory against Liverpool on Sunday evening (4 February).
The Gunners secured a huge 3-1 win at the Emirates with goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard which leaves them just two points from the top of the Premier League table.
However, a calamitous mistake from Saliba handed Liverpool an unexpected equaliser in the 43rd minute of the sensational showdown.
Sky Sports footage showed Ryan Gravenberch play a lofted ball into the box to Luis Diaz, who was quickly shielded by the Frenchman in what initially appeared to be a well-defended move in the closing moments of the first half.
However, Saliba failed to clear the ball and Diaz managed to fire a weak strike towards goal, which struck a helpless Gabriel Magalhaes before going into the net to make it 1-1.
While the elated home crowd in north London were happy to secure the remarkable victory, they remained furious with the centre-back, who could have cost them crucial points.
Supporters have taken to social media to react to his “disgusting” error, and some have called for him to now depart the club.
