ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— We know so much is changing day by day, a few weeks ago, most people didn’t have a real need to have their vaccine card or have New York’s Excelsior Pass on hand to go anywhere, but, there’s been a change.
More places—including certain restaurants and other businesses say they will start asking for those proofs of vaccination.
So- what do you do?
First, some of you may need a new pass, that’s because you might have signed up to get the Excelsior Pass soon after you got vaccinated. The state did update the app earlier this summer– to set your “expires” date to a full year from your last dose.
So, if your date printed on your pass is coming up soon, just go through the app or get online and work through the process to get an updated version. When you do that– the expiration date should be 365 days from your last shot.
Check out our previous Good Question segment that addressed some initial confusion about the pass.
