Tyson Fury has warned Oleksandr Usyk ‘you can’t run anymore’ after their heavyweight unification showdown was confirmed.

WBC champion Fury and IBF, WBO and WBA champion Usyk will meet in Saudi Arabia to crown the division’s first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

The fight fell through in spectacular fashion in March this year but all parties have now confirmed a deal is done with the historic bout set to take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

While it has been announced a date will be confirmed in due course, reports suggest the bout will take place on 23 December or in January 2024. Fury will first take on former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a non-title exhibition bout on 28 October.

Shortly following confirmation, ‘The Gypsy King’ shared a message for his opponent on social media. He wrote: ‘I do what I say. I say what I do. UNDISPUTED. THIS IS THE GYPSY KING ERA.

‘You can’t run rabbit run anymore Oleksandr Usyk, you’re getting it.’

Neither fighter commented in a joint press release from the fight organisers in Saudi, Queensberry Promotions, Top Rank and K2 Promotions.
