K-pop group TREASURE started off as a 12-member team. However, Bang Yedam and Mashiho were said to be on a temporary break due to health reasons since this year. Now, YG Entertainment has announced that the two members are exiting the group and TREASURE will continue as a 10-member team from here on. The agency said, ” After a long discussion with Masiho and Bang Yedam, the exclusive contract was terminated.”
WHAT DID YG ENTERTAINMENT STATE?
The statement by YG Entertainment, Treasure’s agency, dated November 8th, reads, “We sincerely thank the Treasure Makers who are sending great love to Treasure, and we would like to inform you about Treasure’s future activity plans as follows.”
“From now on, TREASURE plans to reorganize the team into a 10-member group consisting of Choi Hyun-seok, Ji-hoon, Yoshi, Jun-gyu, Yoon Jae-hyeok, Asahi, Do-young, Haruto, Park Jung-woo, and So Jung-hwan. After a long discussion with Masiho and Bang Yedam, the contract was terminated. Masiho needs a full recovery for health reasons, and in the case of Bang Yedam, we made this decision to create an environment where he can grow as a producer with his own unique musical color.”
They further added, “We knew that the fans were waiting for Masiho and Bang Yedam to return, and we are also very sorry as they are the two people who started TREASURE together. However, please give your encouragement and support to Masiho and Bang Yedam, who must have had more worries than anyone else. YG will continue to communicate with Treasure Makers as it is now and do its best for Treasure’s activities.”
ABOUT UPCOMING MUSIC VIDEO
TREASURE’s rap unit, Choi Hyun Suk, Yoshi, and Haruto, will be releasing a B-side track, titled VolKno. The music video for the same drops on November 10, 2022.
