Yankees’ Clint Frazier gives glimpse of Brett Gardner’s clubhouse shenanigans

When Yankees center fielder Brett Gardner stepped to the plate Saturday night, he was wearing a mock turtle neck under his gray road jersey.

It wasn’t just any turtle neck. It didn’t belong to him.

Teammate Clint Frazier, 25, jokingly let everyone know that Gardner, 37, made it clear to him who runs things in the clubhouse.

“can’t wear my mock turtleneck tonight because gardy took it from my locker and now he’s going to wear it,” Frazier tweeted. he just wanted to let me know who the man was around here …..”

The Yankees’ nine-game winning streak certainly allowed it to happen.

Teams typically don’t have that kind of fun when they’re struggling, and the Yankees’ are far from the tough times they experienced in the early part of the month.

Frazier and Gardner have been relatively close since the Yankees acquired Frazier from the Indians in 2016. Frazier also recently surpassed Gardner as the regular left fielder, thanks to his impressive bat.

“I’ve been here a while and been searching for that consistent playing time and I finally got it. It’s a special moment for me,” Frazier said earlier in the week.
