Yankees’ Anthony Volpe keeps growing into ‘something special’

MIAMI — Yankees hitting coach Sean Casey was impressed while watching shortstop Anthony Volpe from afar during the first half of this season, often paying close attention to his at-bats while working as an analyst at MLB Network.

Since joining the Yankees’ coaching staff at the All-Star break, however, Casey has fallen deeper in love with the player and the person, a rookie that he believes will be a perennial All-Star down the road.
