Wycombe Wanderers seal place in Wembley play-off final despite second-leg defeat

Wycombe Wanderers survived a 90-minute onslaught to deservedly seal their place in the League One play-off final against either Sunderland or Sheffield Wednesday on May 21.

Leading 2-0 on aggregate before kick-off, Gareth Ainsworth’s game plan for his ageing Wycombe squad, the oldest in the division, was to continue where they had left off at Adams Park last Thursday.
