WWE star Zelina Vega breaks down in tears over incredible ovation in Puerto Rico

Zelina Vega burst into tears on an emotional night in Puerto Rico.
The 32-year-old WWE star, who is of Puerto Rican descent, stepped out in San Juan with the whole arena behind her as she wore the United States territory’s flag on her gear for a special moment.
She came out to face SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley amid an intense rivalry between the Latino World Order (LWO) and the Judgment Day, and an electric crowd rallied behind her.
Ring announcer Samantha Irvin paused her introductions as the fans loudly chanted and cheered for Zelina, and she was visibly overwhelmed as the tears flowed.
On commentary, lead broadcaster Michael Cole revealed there was added significant for the wrestler, who had dedicated the match to his late father Michael’s memory.
Her dad, who worked in the world Trade Center, tragically died in the 9/11 attacks, and Cole told fans she had always promised him that one day she would wrestle and become champion.
She did herself, her family and her late father proud on Saturday, delivering a great performance and looking like she was close to becoming champion on a couple of occasions.
In the end, she did fall to Rhea and her devastating Riptide move, but she was given time to soak in another truly special ovation after the bell.
She may not have got the win, but from the entrance to the aftermath, Zelina will never forget such a special night.
Elsewhere on the show, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and United States Champion Austin Theory held onto their respective titles, and Seth Rollins got a huge win over Omos.
Zelina’s win came moments before her LWO ally Bad Bunny was set to face Damian Priest in a brutal San Juan Street Fight.
