WWE SmackDown results: Live recap, grades as Logan Paul returns after beating The Miz at SummerSlam

Logan Paul #LoganPaul

Social media and WWE superstar Logan Paul is bringing his unique brand to WWE SmackDown. Paul steps foot in a WWE ring on Friday for the first time since defeating The Miz at SummerSlam. The action kicks off inside Honda Center in Anaheim, California, at 8 p.m. ET.

WWE is playing coy with Paul’s intentions. Not much is known about what he is bringing to the blue brand other than his chaotic energy. Paul impressed the WWE universe with athletic showcases at WrestleMania and SummerSlam. His performance against Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio went a long way in procuring him a multi-event contract with WWE in June.

Four tag teams — New Day, Brawling Brutes, Hit Row and Imperium — will compete to earn themselves the status of No. 1 contenders for the undisputed WWE tag team championships. A different No. 1 contender’s fatal four-way match originally took place on the Sept. 5 episode of Raw, but a returning Braun Strowman cleared the field and drew a no-contest. Friday will hopefully produce the next challengers for The Usos’ titles. Two other matches have also been announced for tonight’s show.

CBS Sports is with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Honda Center in Anaheim.
