Woman Says She Worked With Try Guys Ned Fulmer, Complained About Behavior

A former Buzzfeed employee went viral online after sharing her personal experience working with Ned Fulmer, the co-creator and executive producer of YouTube’s popular Try Guys.

Sarah Puhl, or @soposcope, posted a video on TikTok Tuesday evening about her experience working with Fulmer, who recently admitted to having an extramarital relationship with an engaged co-worker.

Puhl’s video received more than 570,000 views and 400 comments in less than 14 hours since it was posted. The video can be found here.

‘Don’t Trust People’

In the TikTok captioned “sucks for the family they didn’t deserve that,” Puhl said Fulmer was her direct supervisor years ago when she worked at Buzzfeed.

“This is all I’ll say on this topic because yes, I did work with him,” Puhl said. “No, I did not like working with him.”

Puhl said she expressed her feelings toward Fulmer to co-workers but was made to feel like she was “the wrong one.”

“Don’t trust people when they make one thing their entire personality,” Puhl said, referring to how Fulmer constantly talked about his wife Ariel Fulmer.

She said that the situation will be a lesson for everyone, although she said she thought it was “pretty obvious” that he cheated.

“If you have to make it your entire personality it means you’re compensating for that fact,” Puhl said. “That’s what that means.”

In another video, Puhl said Fulmer seemed “fake” in videos but said she doesn’t know him as a person.

“I don’t know who he is because the person that I came to know I did not want to know better,” she said. “This is all outside looking in. I felt like he was judgemental of me personally.”

Puhl said she did not feel supported by Fulmer and that he was “difficult to talk to.”

Public Statements

Fulmer was accused of having an extramarital relationship with Alexandria Herring—an associate producer of the Try Guys—after images allegedly showing the two kissing in a New York City bar surfaced online.

On Tuesday, the group announced on Twitter that they would no longer be working with Fulmer following the cheating scandal.

“Ned Fulmer is no longer working with The Try Guys,” the tweet read. “As a result of a thorough internal review, we do not see a path forward together. We thank you for your support as we navigate this change.”

Fulmer also released a statement Tuesday on Twitter admitting that he had an affair with a co-worker.

“Family should always have been my priority, but I lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship,” the statement read. “I’m sorry for any pain that my actions may have caused to the guys and the fans but most of all to Ariel. The only thing that matters right now is my marriage and my children, and that’s where I am going to focus my attention.”

Ariel made a statement Tuesday on her Instagram account following the accusations.

“Thanks to everyone who has reached out to me—it means a lot,” the statement read. “Nothing is more important to me and Ned than our family, and all we request right now is that you respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”

Viewer Reactions

Hundreds of viewers commented on the video, many saying they were not surprised by the allegations because of the way Fulmer spoke about Ariel constantly.

“I don’t understand the shock because whenever a man speaks about his wife that much she starts to seem like an accessory to him and not a person,” one user commented.

“It always felt a bit forced,” one user commented.

“Damn everyone and their momma got something to say this is wild,” another user commented.

“This was definitely not his first time for sure,” another commented. “And everyone knew.”

“I like the Try Guys but Ned always creeped me out and I thought his whole shtick was over compensation for something,” another user commented. “Never liked him.”
