A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday.

  • Winter Storm Warning
  • Snow Moving Through this morning
  • Significant snow Monday, tapering off Tuesday morning
  • Below Zero Wind Chills
  • TODAY: The morning commute will be slick as today’s first round of snow falls and accumulates, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Dontae Jones. This round of snow is likely to accumulate about 1-3″. Snow will taper to flurries, or just cloudy skies, by the late morning and through early afternoon. Temperatures are in the teens this morning but it is awfully breezy, thus wind chills are around zero and some a few degrees below zero.

Snow will taper off midday, and we’ll see a break in activity. Another round of snow then arrives mid to late afternoon, just in time for the evening commute. Snow will fall through the overnight hours before tapering late overnight.

Highs will be around 20 degrees. Wind chills will be below zero all day. Winds will increase with gusts up to 30mph tonight. This will create blowing and drifting snow. Visibility will drop quickly in spots. This will create blizzard-like conditions.

Another 6-9″ is expected with a storm total of 8-10″.

TUESDAY: Some light snow showers may linger into the start of Tuesday. Hazardous roads will remain through the morning. Wind chills will start out below zero again. Mostly cloudy with a few flurries through the afternoon. Highs in the upper teens but wind chills will remain in the single digits if not below zero.

WEDNESDAY: Bitter cold with wind chills below zero to start. A mix of clouds and sun later with highs in the middle 20s. Light snow showers return late day into Wednesday night.

THURSDAY: Another storm will bring us snow showers with perhaps a wintry mix south. This storm has the potential to bring us a few inches of snow but too early to tell. It will be a windy and cold day with highs in the lower 30s.

FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy, windy, and cold with a few passing flurries. Highs in the lower 20s.

SATURDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy skies, a bit of a breeze, a few flurries south, possible with highs in the upper 20s.
