Windy, cold, flurries for St. Patrick’s Day

St Patrick #StPatrick

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – It was quite windy Saturday, highs remained above normal in the low 50s for a spring-like day. Unfortunately, the wind will remain for Sunday, but highs will drop significantly.

A cold front pushed through the area early Saturday morning. Cold air is expected to continue to spill into Siouxland Sunday bringing highs down to the upper 30s with a few flurries possible in spots. Wind chill values could be in the low teens to start the day with feels-like temperatures around 20 degrees for the warmest part of the day. If you are headed out to the St. Patrick’s Day parade, you’ll want to layer up!

Thankfully the wind and cold take a break to start the work week with temperatures rebounding into the upper 40s Monday with plentiful sunshine.

Highs continue to rise on Tuesday as temperatures soar to near 60 degrees. Breezy south winds will help us warm up.

Another cold front arrives Tuesday night bringing temperatures down to normal (upper 40s) once again by Wednesday.

A little wave sneaks through the area Thursday bringing the chance for a few rain and/or snow showers depending on the time of day. Highs will still warm up to near 50 degrees Thursday afternoon.

Next weekend looks like it will kick-start a period of active weather. All types of precipitation is possible at this time. Right now, temperatures at any given time are very uncertain, please stay tuned for updates.
