Wiggins believes Warriors are ‘totally different team’ now
The Warriors have been waiting all season for the pieces to come together. From the start, coach Steve Kerr and the team preached patience as they struggled out of the gate.
With plenty of fresh faces on the roster, this new-look Warriors team needed time to figure out respective roles for the supporting cast surrounding Steph Curry. With the regular season coming to an end, they’ve finally figured it out.
After beating the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns, the two top seeds in the Western Conference, in back-to-back games, the Warriors are on a roll.
Alongside Curry, Andrew Wiggins has been another consistent, and critical piece to the Warriors’ success this season. Capping off a monster 38-point, 17-for-24 shooting night against the Suns. Wiggins discussed the team’s focus with two games left in the regular season.
“This is a big game,” Wiggins said after Tuesday’s win. “We’re trying to put together wins, trying to make this playoff run, trying to make something happen. Every win counts, every time on the floor counts and we just have to keep pushing forward.”
Beating both the one-seeded Jazz and two-seeded Suns, the Warriors made a statement — with an exclamation point.
“It felt good, it just shows what we’re capable of,” Wiggins said. “I feel like we’re in a good groove right now, defensively, offensively. We’re doing it at the right time, we’ll keep pushing forward.”

The Warriors struggled out of the gate but found their way towards the middle of the season. They hovered around .500 throughout much of the campaign but were never able to go on a steady run. With the return of fans to Chase Center, Wiggins and the Warriors were feeling the energy.
“We’re in a great groove, great atmosphere around here,” Wiggins said. “The fans are into it, the momentum is there, and the rest is history. We just have to keep it going.
“This is fun, this is very fun. We’ve come a long way, we’re a totally different team than we were at the beginning of the year. We got a lot better, and the sky’s the limit.”
After plenty of ups and downs, the Warriors found their groove. It took a lot of patience, plenty of trials, and tribulations, but the resurgent Golden State team has a chance to make some noise in the play-in and possibly the playoffs.
