Whose house? Bills Mafia forces Rams’ Matthew Stafford to use silent count at home
Rams #Rams
Whose house?
No, seriously, whose house was that on Thursday night at SoFi Stadium? Because it certainly did not seem like a home game for the Los Angeles Rams.
On a night where the Rams were being honored for winning Super Bowl LVI, the team knew that the opposing fan base, the Bills Mafia, were going to be a headache for them. Thousands of Buffalo Bills fans traveled across the country to be in attendance for the NFL Kickoff game and could be heard in attendance and on the television broadcast whenever the Bills made a big play.
Following Buffalo’s 31-10 win, Rams QB Matthew Stafford was asked if the noise from the Bills fan base affected him. The veteran QB said no, but admitted that the Rams were using a silent count to counter the noise they knew was coming.
Yikes.
If there was ever a night when Rams fans should have packed the stadium, it was Thursday night. A championship banner was being unveiled and the team was being honored for their victory over the Bengals, but that never happened.
It’s one thing when San Francisco 49ers fans take over SoFi Stadium. Their team and fan base is close enough to drive to the venue. To be overtaken by the Bills Mafia, a fan base that traveled all the way from Western New York, is a completely different matter.
Los Angeles is a great sports city when it comes to college football, the Lakers and Dodgers, but the city does not seem to click or connect with the Rams for whatever reason.
