As the popular saying goes “you are only as happy as your saddest child”, which couldn’t be truer for Megan Aronson, an author and a mental health advocate. The Arizona mom took to Twitter to pen down a heartfelt post about her 11-year-old son Kanon Aronson.

Megan posted a tweet to her 20.6K followers urging them to retweet and wish her son on his 11th birthday, while explaining how the pandemic hasn’t been easy on the young boy and about him getting bullied at the school. She wrote, “Today is my son’s 11th birthday. He’s had a REALLY hard year in this pandemic. We had to move 2X & he was bullied at both new schools. He’s sweet & sensitive & doesn’t understand why kids are so mean. Could you wish him happy birthday today? His name is Kanon! Pls RT! #kanonsbday.”

“Like many moms this year, it’s been one of the hardest battles of my life watching my kids struggle through the pandemic. You all have made us feel seen & heard, loved & supported today. I’m sitting here bawling reading your birthday wishes for Kanon. Wow. THANK YOU SO MUCH,” she added

Twitter users were touched on reading Megan’s heartwarming message and came together to make Kanon’s 11th birthday extremely special and memorable, by flooding him with beautiful birthday messages and wishes. There were so many people who came forward to wish Kanon that soon he began trending on Twitter, with over 18.4K tweets made about the birthday boy!

Several Twitter users began reflecting on their own experiences of being bullied and urged the birthday boy to stay strong, while others offered their love and support to him. A user tweeted, “Happy Birthday Kanon! I went to two Primary schools and worse I was held back a year and had to watch my old classmates move up without me. I was bullied the entire time. Billy The Cat was my hero. He gave me hope that a ordinary kid has the potential to be extraordinary.” Another user wrote, “Hey Kanon. Happy Birthday. You look pretty cool to me, and I am a pretty good judge of being cool. Have a great day. You’re gonna have a great year. I can feel it.”

Another user shared, “Happy birthday Kanon! I’m sorry it’s been a tough year, that’s a bummer. I’m sorry kids have been mean. A lot of times, people are mean to others because they feel bad about themselves, so they put others down to try to lift themselves up. It isn’t right, and it isn’t fair..” Actress Kristen Johnston too hopped onto her Twitter to wish the birthday boy. She posted, “I was bullied, too. In fact, the most amazing, talented & kind adults I know were all bullied as kids. Anyway, tell Kanon Happy Birthday from me! #kanonsbday.” “Happiest of birthdays little champ! That’s a really cool shirt you’ve got there. I hope you’re having a great one, and that you’ve got your favorite treat and meal today. I usually want chocolate cake on my bday,” wished a user.
