However, people may be surprised at how prolific this young actress is. Ramsey, being only 19 years old, has already appeared in some of the most important pieces of media of the last years, even being the lead character of a couple of movies and shows.
Holmes & Watson Flotsam
A parodic adaptation of the famous Arthur Conan Doyle novel, Holmes & Watson positions Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in unusual but hilarious situations. This is a unique and hilarious film that stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.
Ramsey plays Flotsam, one of the kid urchins that Holmes usually asks for information about what’s going on in the streets. Although this was a very small role and Ramsey was still young, it was easy to see her nag for comedy, which will become relevant in some of her most popular parts.
Judy Lorna Luft
One of the best movies of the 2010s, Judy follows the latest years of Judy Garland as she struggled with her personal life and career while trying to connect with her children, Lorna and Joey. The film also features flashbacks from Judy’s childhood, especially the period in which she filmed The Wizard of Oz.
The film stars Renée Zellweger, and Bella Ramsey plays Judy Garland’s daughter, Lorna Luft. This movie had several award nominations, and Bella did a great job portraying Lorna’s complicated relationship with Judy Garland.
Resistance Elsbeth
Based on the life of Marcel Marceau, a famous French actor who worked with the French Resistance during the World War II, Resistance (2020) follows Marcel as a Jewish man throughout the war. Played by Jesse Eisenberg, Marcel helps rescue many Jewish children whose parents were killed by Nazis.
Played by Bella Ramsey, Elsbeth is one of these children, and the film starts with her parents being killed. Even as a young actress, Ramsey perfectly portrays the desolation and anguish a kid feels throughout this terrible situation.
His Dark Materials Angelica
One of the best Sci-Fi series in recent years, HBO’s adaptation of Philip Pullman’s trilogy, His Dark Materials, follows Lyra and Will as they try to save the multiverse from extinction. When Will and Lyra accidentally end up in the Cittágaze, they meet Angelica, played by Bella Ramsey.
Angelica is one of the many orphan kids in this strange city, where there aren’t any adults. Angelica was Tullio’s older brother, from who Will eventually gets the Subtle Knife. While Angelica is a secondary character, Ramsey perfectly portrays her desperation and defensiveness in an impossible situation.
Becoming Elizabeth Lady Jane Grey
Becoming Elizabeth follows the younger years of the life of Queen Elizabeth I, who grew up as an orphan in the tense court of England. Bella Ramsey plays Lady Jane Grey, who would eventually become “The Nine Days Queen,” since she only got the title for that period of time.

One of Netflix’s best animated series, Hilda, based on the graphic novel by Luke Pearson, follows Hilda’s adventures as she moves from the forest to the city. The series had many positive reviews, was renewed for up to three seasons, and even got a movie, Hilda and the Mountain King.
Bella Ramsey voices Hilda, the main character of the show. She perfectly portrays Hilda’s adventurous, funny, and kind nature. With this show, Ramsey proved that her acting skills extend to voice acting, and the role even earned a BAFTA Children’s Award in 2019.
Catherine Called Birdy Birdy
Directed by Lena Dunham, Catherine Called Birdy is the adaptation of the novel of the same name by author Karen Cusham. The movie centers around Birdy, played by Bella Ramsey, a teenage girl in medieval times who struggles with the fact that her parents want to marry her for money.

Game Of Thrones Lyanna Mormont
While many people have watched HBO’s most popular series, Game of Thrones, many may not remember that Bella Ramsey appeared in later seasons of this show as Lyanna Mormont. This character becomes the Head of the house of Mormont after her mother, Maege Mormont, dies in the War of the Five Kings.
Even though Lyanna is very young, she proves to be a great leader for the Mormont House. She’s intelligent, confident, and commanding, all attributes that Ramsey portrays gracefully, taking into account that she’s as young as her character.
The Last Of Us Ellie
HBO’s adaptation of the video game The Last of Us has been a complete hit so far. The show’s protagonists are Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie). These two actors created a fantastic chemistry that’s half the reason the show is so enthralling.
