When will the NBA Finals start for the Warriors?
Warriors #Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are back in the NBA Finals for the sixth time in the last eight seasons — and will get to host Game 1, too.
The Warriors earned their way back to the NBA’s biggest stage by defeating the Dallas Mavericks in five games, finishing the series with a 120-110 win on Thursday night. Golden State will now get six days off before it faces either the Celtics or the Heat in the Finals. Boston won in Miami to take Game 5 and will have a chance to clinch their spot in the Finals in Game 6 on Friday.

While there is more work to be done, reaching this point alone puts the Warriors’ core players in elite company. Only the 1990s Bulls, the 1980s Lakers, and 1950-60s Celtics and have made six Finals appearances in an eight-year span and won multiple championships.
The Warriors will be making their 12th appearance in the NBA Finals, and four more wins would give them their seventh championship — surpassing the Bulls for the third-most for any NBA franchise and only leaving the Lakers and Celtics ahead of them.
The Warriors have never faced the Heat in the Finals, but did face the Celtics during the middle of Boston’s run of eight straight championships in the 1950-60s. Boston won the 1964 series 4-1.
