WhatsApp #WhatsApp
WhatsApp introduced its Instagram-like Channel features in India in June this year. For those unaware, WhatsApp Channelfunctions as a platform for one-way communication, enabling administrators to transmit text messages, photos, videos, stickers, and polls. The company is in the process of creating a searchable directory to aid users in finding channels that align with their interests. This directory allows users to explore channels pertaining to their hobbies, sports teams, updates from local authorities, and various other topics. Now, an online report suggests that WhatsApp is rolling out alerts for WhatsApp Channels.According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has released the Channel Alerts feature for Android beta testers which can be accessed in update version 2.23.26.6 of the app. What is WhatsApp Channels Alert featureAs per the report, the latest feature aims to enhance the experience for channel users by furnishing them with real-time information regarding the suspension of their channel. Channel administrators can leverage the Channel Alerts feature to receive notifications about potential violations of WhatsApp’s policies. Furthermore, administrators have the option to request a review of their suspension directly through the Channel Alerts screen.“The introduction of a channel alerts feature adds a new layer of transparency to the platform. Users can discover if there are any issues with their channels, with the action to perform to address them. Additionally, we believe that users can now enjoy a larger view while scrolling down one of the available tabs, thanks to the automatic hiding of navigation labels and the top app bar: this approach aims to provide users with a larger view of their chats, call logs, community group chats, and channels,” mentions the report.
