Conversations With Friends, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

Sally Rooney’s first novel gets the Lenny Abrahamson treatment with this latest TV adaptation.

Will it be as big a hit as Normal People? Times are a lot different now compared to Lockdown, but the subject matter is just as compelling.

Certainly, if the book is anything to go by, this should be a compelling watch.

This time around, the drama stars Sasha Lane Alison Oliver, Joe Alwyn and former Girls cast member, Jemima Kirke.

In the opener, Dublin college students Frances and Bobbi forge a strange and unexpected connection with married couple Melissa and Nick,.

Episode two follows at 10.10pm, where Bobbi and Frances go to Melissa’s birthday party, but while Bobbi chats to Melissa and her friends, Frances drifts off to explore the house and finds Nick alone in a bedroom.

Derry Girls, 10.00pm, Channel 4

Following last night’s final episode in the series, here’s a one-hour special that will hopefully come with a few more laughs.

The gang bows out in this special extended episode which returns to Derry one year on, as the friends are preparing for their final year of school.

It’s the week of the referendum on the Good Friday Agreement but the timing could not be any worse as Erin and Orla’s joint 18th birthday threatens to be overshadowed.

While the family try to get their heads around the possible outcome of the vote, the friends realise they may not be ready for what the future holds.

Live UEFA Europa League, 7.00pm, Virgin Media Two

Eintracht Frankfurt v Rangers (kick-off 8.00pm) sees an unlikely pairing that has attracted a massive movement of supporters from both clubs.

Over 100,000 fans are hoping to get to the game – but most will be disappointed. The action takes place at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Valencia, Spain, as the successors to Villarreal are crowned.

Eintracht Frankfurt fans

Frankfurt are aiming to lift their first European trophy since they won this competition under its former guise of the UEFA Cup in 1980, and they eliminated favourites Barcelona in the quarter-finals, before overcoming West Ham United in the semi-finals.

Rangers’ wait to win a continental title goes back to 1972, when they claimed the now defunct European Cup Winners Cup, but their victory over German sides in the last two rounds will give them confidence.

Katherine Parkinson stars in this Australian comedy about a divorced lawyer and mother-of-two who’s looking for sex without commitment.
