Swinging clubs and rubbing elbows with the stars are all part of the 3rd annual Phil Oates Celebrity Golf Classic starting Sunday. On Oct. 15 and 16, golfers and celebrities will gather at Northridge Country Club in Fair Oaks to play a round of 18 benefiting various Sacramento area communities with an emphasis on organizations that help disadvantaged youth. A few of the charities that will receive donations include St. John’s Program for Real Change, The American Heart Association and Battlefields to Ballfields. Organizer Phil Oates says he’s thrilled to host the event for the third year, adding they’re on track to raise a million dollars this year. One of the highlights is pairing local golfers with celebrities as they play 18 holes of golf. Among the big names playing this year are Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen and Marshall Faulk.Learn more in the video above.
