What Phil Foden and Erling Haaland did after Man City vs Borussia Dortmund has everyone talking!
Foden #Foden
Phil Foden and Erling Haaland’s embrace at the final whistle of Tuesday evening’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund has thrown City fans into a frenzy on social media.
Foden sparkled in the match, putting the Borussia Dortmund defenders on skates throughout the second half, before eventually slotting home the winner in the 90th minute to give the home side a 2-1 advantage to take to Germany in eight day’s time – and it appeared Erling Haaland approached Foden to show his respect for his fellow youngster.
The pair grew up Manchester City supporters – Phil Foden has spent his youth and short professional career at the club, while Erling Haaland was brought into the fandom through his father Alf-Inge, who played for the club in the early 2000’s.
The two embraced and shared words through grinning mouths at the full time whistle.
Manchester City fans will be hoping and praying that those two talented youngsters could be the future of the club’s attack for a long time to come.
That embrace led to Manchester City supporters to respond in kind – some giving their own subtitles to the photos.
