That would open a spot for someone to take over Trump’s base, and Ramaswamy is ready. “I think that our base should not fall for that trap,” Ramaswamy said. “I’m here to make sure they don’t, that we don’t. The America First agenda cannot end with Donald Trump.”

Trump this weekend criticized Ramaswamy for the first time in a significant way, posting on social media that a vote for him would be one for the “other side.” Saturday night Ramaswamy responded: “Donald Trump was the greatest President of the 21st century, and I’m not going to criticize him in response to this late attack.”
