‘What is Ole doing?!’ Man Utd fans can’t believe what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just done with Daniel James vs Leicester City

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just named his team to face Leicester City and a few eyebrows have been raised.

Wales star Daniel James has kept his place in the starting line-up to face the Foxes after impressing in the 6-2 rout over Leeds United last weekend.

James scored the fifth in that game, and although he was left out of the EFL Cup quarter-final win over Everton in midweek, his efforts against Marcelo Bielsa’s men meant his place in the starting XI against Leicester was deserved.

United fans, all the whole, were in agreement over his inclusion but the way in which the team is set to line up is causing much consternation among supporters, as according the MUTV, James is set to play at right wing-back against Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The 23-year-old is more at home on the left-hand side of an attacking three, but that place has gone to Anthony Martial in a re-jigged formation from Solskjaer

James will hope this is the start of a run of games in the side under the ex-Cardiff City boss, who has preferred Mason Greenwood or Edinson Cavani over the former Swansea City man in recent weeks.

United legend Roy Keane praised his display against Leeds after a tough period out of the team.

“He’s had a tough time. He’s had a tough time since he’s gone to United. He started off his career at United really well, but had a difficult few months,” he told Sky Sports.

“Again, credit to Ole – he probably thought it was gonna be his kind of game and it’s gonna be open. Going to United was a big move for him.

“Look at his face, it meant a lot to the kid and I’m delighted for him. Playing for Man United is not as easy as everyone thinks, there’s a lot of pressure.”
