‘What a stupid thing to say’… Robbie Savage can’t believe what Chris Sutton has said about Tottenham

There’s been a lot to like about Tottenham this season, but even the biggest Spurs fan may admit that the praise has gone a bit over the top at times.
Indeed, while we absolutely love what Ange Postecoglou has done at Spurs, he’s being spoken about as this miracle worker in north London, when that isn’t really the case.
The reality is that Tottenham have won just one of their last six league games and they sit fifth in the league – it’s not exactly great form is it.
Speaking on BBC 606, Chris Sutton and Robbie Savage have had a disagreement about Spurs, Sutton claims that many fans are jealous of what’s happening at Tottenham, but Savage wholly disagreed with that sentiment.

The two pundits had a disagreement over how other fans view Tottenham.
“”I tell you what’s happening this season, there’s so much jealousy towards Spurs, people want to kick Spurs because of the excitement,” Sutton said.
“What? Are Arsenal jealous of Spurs? What are you talking about? Arsenal are jealous of Spurs? What are you talking about you idiot, are Liverpool fans jealous of Spurs? What an idiotic comment that is,” Savage said.

“According to Chris, teams are jealous of Spurs, so Man City fans, Liverpool fans, and Arsenal fans, and Aston Villa fans, are you jealous of Spurs? What a stupid thing to say.”
Jealous?
Everyone within the game certainly has admiration for what Tottenham have done this season, but to call it jealousy might be a tad too far.
Realistically, Manchester United and Chelsea are the only big six sides who’d swap places with Spurs right now, and, to be honest, that’s not saying much.
Tottenham are still some way off the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal, and it’s hard to imagine either of those two fanbases are looking and wishing their team were more like Tottenham, regardless of how entertaining they are.
