Westfield Starfires unveil commemorative uniforms at Barnes Air National Guard
Barnes #Barnes
WESTFIELD – On Friday morning, the Westfield Starfires visited Barnes Air National Guard Base and unveiled their new uniforms to honor the 104th Fighter Wing stationed there.
The uniforms recognize the incoming F-35 Lightning II jets that will replace the current F-15C and F-15D jets at the end of their operational life in 2026.
“Our franchise, like the City of Westfield, owes so much to Barnes Air National Guard Base and the people there who serve our country,” Starfires owner Chris Thompson said. “As we celebrate our fifth anniversary season, we wanted to honor them and the latest iteration of aircraft that will continue to protect our skies for years to come.”
The Columbia blue uniform features a stylized F-35 as the primary logo on the front, with the Starfires’ fifth-anniversary patch on the upper left. The Air Force logo is on both sleeves.
As with the team’s 2022 specialty jersey, the Westfield Postal Code of 01085 is on the inside back collar, and the core values of the Air Force – Integrity, Service Before Self, and Excellence – are written on the outside back collar.
The uniforms will debut on Friday, July 14, when the Starfires host the Brockton Rox at 6:30 p.m.
