The young centre-back has found himself out-of-favour in Frank Lampard’s Chelsea set-up with the signing of Thiago Silva knocking Tomori further down the pecking order.

Chelsea’s failure to offload Antonio Rudiger has also seen an overload of defenders at Stamford Bridge and West Ham are hoping to capitalise.

Rudiger had been subject to links with AC Milan, Roma and Spurs but is now set to stay with the Blues to battle for his place along with Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma.

Due to Rudiger’s developments, Tomori now looks the most likely to depart Stamford Bridge before the 11pm deadline.

West Ham are interested in a loan move for the England defender to boost their defensive ranks.

David Moyes has been keen to bring in some reinforcements throughout the window but has seen moves for James Tarkowski, Wesley Fofana and Nikola Milenkovic all fall through.

Vladimir Coufal joined the Hammers last week for £6million but Moyes wants to add more depth to his defensive options.

Elsewhere, Fulham appear to be closing in of Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek as another Blues academy product searches for game time following the club’s summer spending spree.
