Weibo Gaming vs T1 Recap Worlds 2023 Grand Final. That’s it, we’re here already and it’s time for the final game of Worlds 2023.

It feels like just yesterday that we sat day for our first recap of Worlds 2023. But here we are, Weibo Gaming vs T1 in the Worlds 2023 Grand Final. Both sides come into the Worlds Grand Final off the back of less-than-clean runs in the Swiss Stage. T1 picked up a loss against Gen.G on the way, while Weibo Gaming had a really tricky run, losing to G2 and KT on the way and coming one loss away from being sent home. T1 come into the series as the home-town heroes, but can Weibo, and the LPL, once again spoil the party?

Weibo Gaming vs T1 Recap – Game 1

A huge first blood over to WBG in the mid lane as they managed to punish Faker who was pushed up too far into his lane. T1 found their way back a while later, claiming the Rift Herald and a kill in return a few minutes later. With 15 minutes on the clock, WBG had stayed ahead on kills, but the gold had been equalised, though T1 had two Drake’s, giving them an early win condition. A huge swing in the game, while WBG picked up the Drake to slow the T1 march, they lost 3 members of their team as a result. T1 won another teamfight and this time they managed to turn that into a Baron as T1’s early game comp paid off. T1 would turn that Drake into more power on the map, before turning their sights to the next Baron.

Baron 2 would be enough for T1 to end Game 1 with a fairly clean victory overall.

T1 vs Weibo Gaming Recap – Game 2

A huge start to Game 2 for T1, as they claimed a top lane first blood to pile even more pressure onto WBG. T1 continued that trajectory picking up a second kill, though WBG were this time playing the objective as they secured the first two Drake’s. T1 couldn’t be stopped, fighting WBG for the third Drake. T1 pulled off the Drake, and turned their attention to WBG. The Drake was claimed, and the fifth was won easily for T1. T1 eventually claimed the first Baron with 27 minutes on the clock, with WBG gaming not able to do anything to stop them. T1 pushed the top side off the back of the Baron, and WBG had nothing in the tank to stop the assault. T1 charged into the WBG base and moved onto match point already.

Weibo Gaming vs T1 Recap – Game 3

Game 3 started perfectly once again for T1 who claimed yet another first blood. WBG clapped back shortly after, however, picking up two kills on the bot side of the map and regaining the lead. T1 claimed the second Drake of the game, and despite WBG trying to find space to get an advantage, T1 came away ahead. A huge team fight in the mid lane, while WBG started the engagement, it was T1, and specifically Faker who turned the fight and kept their momentum going. T1 was also able to turn that into a Soul-Point Drake as Game 3 hung in the balance for WBG. T1, with Baron now pushed WBG back into their own base, and with an ace inside the WBG jungle, the game was almost over.  The mid lane inhibitor fell, and the Soul Drake was handed over to T1.

WBG went all out to try to save the game, but it wasn’t enough. T1 comfortably claimed the Worlds 2023 title. Winning in front of their own fans, this roster has done it all. Now eyes turn towards 2024 in London.
