We Tried The Most Unhinged Costco Food Court Hacks So You Don’t Have To

No trip to Costco is complete without a stop at their food court. It’s probably the only place where you can get a hot dog and drink for just $1.50. There are mainstays on the menu and constant new additions (including the new turkey sandwich!). But you can expand your food court horizons with some clever (and crazy) menu hacks.

Costco enthusiasts regularly share some of their food court inventions on social media, but how much of it is just for shock value? Do these hacks actually taste good, or are they just hack jobs? We decided to take on the brave task of going to our local warehouse and trying some of the most viral Costco combos to give our honest, unfiltered reviews.

Our main takeaway: most of these hacks are ridiculous, but a few of them are worth trying at least once. Here’s our roundup of Costco food court hacks, ranked from best to worst.

Cold Brew Mocha Freeze + Soft Serve

The cold brew mocha freeze has been a staple on the food court menu for over five years, and it didn’t take long for members to supplement it with a swirl of soft serve. There’s a clear textural variation between the two items—the soft serve is smooth and creamy while the freeze has a more slushy, icy texture.

But once you get past it, this hack is honestly delicious. It’s almost like a food court Frappuccino.

Chocolate Sundae + Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie

We first covered this hack when it started making the rounds on Reddit earlier this year. While we’re still grieving the loss of the beloved Costco churro, their new double chocolate chunk cookie is a great addition to the food court menu.

But when you crumble it over a chocolate sundae? It’s so decadent that it almost verges on too much. We think you should order it—but we’d recommend sharing it with at least one other person.

Hot Dog + Chicken Bake

Also known as the “Forbidden Glizzy,” this hack took over the internet in late 2023. We can, admittedly, understand the vision here. The chicken bake looks fairly similar to a hot dog bun. so why not stuff a hot dog in it?

Assembling this hack in the middle of a busy food court is more than slightly embarrassing. The combo, however, isn’t half bad. Don’t get us wrong—it is a lot. It’s not going to become our new go-to order, but it’s certainly worth a try.

Hot Dog + Pizza

The two most ubiquitous Costco food court items are the pizza and hot dogs. And at some point, one creative (and potentially unhinged) person dared to ask: “what would they taste like together?”

One TikTok user describes this hack like “a chili cheese dog, just more European!”We think that’s a pretty big stretch. The pizza is too doughy, the hot dog is too unwieldy, and this hack doesn’t do either component any favors.

Hot Dog + Chicken Bake + Pizza

You thought the Forbidden Glizzy was over the top? Meet the Jochizza: which ups the ante by adding the cheese from a slice of pizza. And as if that wasn’t enough, you’re also supposed to cover the top in all of the Costco condiments.

While the Forbidden Glizzy is tolerable, if not slightly enjoyable, the Jochizza made us physically ill. There are too many conflicting flavors going on. We’re convinced that this hack exists solely for the shock value.
