21 BUMP STREET: At 21 years, 140 days old, RHP Deivi García will be the youngest pitcher in franchise history to start a postseason game (previous: Whitey Ford at 21 years, 351 days old in 1950 World Series Game 4 vs. Philadelphia) and the third-youngest Yankee to pitch in a playoff game (Phil Hughes, 21 years, 102 days old for Game 1 of the 2007 ALDS at Cleveland and 21 years, 105 days old in Game 3 of that series and Tom Morgan, 21 years, 137 days old for Game 1 of the 1951 World Series vs. the New York Giants).

1/4 u00b7 Will be the 11th pitcher (18th time) to start a postseason game at 21 years, 140 days old or younger, joining Rick Ankiel (two starts), Madison Bumgarner (three), Bullet Joe Bush, Jim Palmer, Johnny Podres, CC Sabathia, Bret Saberhagen, Julio Urías, Fernando Valenzuela (five) and Kerry Wood…will be the first to do so since the Dodgers’ Urías in 2016 NLCS Game 4 vs. the Cubs at 20 years, 68 days old.

STANTON ISLAND: OF/DH Giancarlo Stanton hit a grand slam in the ninth inning on Monday in ALDS Game 1, becoming the first DH in franchise history to hit a grand slam in the postseason…was just the 14th player in Yankees history to hit a grand slam in the postseason but the second to do so in as many games…including the regular season, was his eighth career grand slam and his first since 9/20/18 vs. Boston.

1/4 u00b7 Has homered in three straight postseason games, becoming the eighth Yankee (ninth time) to accomplish the feat…is the first Yankee to do so since Aaron Judge homered in three straight postseason games in 2018 (AL Wild Card Game – ALDS G2)…Reggie Jackson (1977 WS G4 – 1978 ALCS G1) and Lou Gehrig (1928 WS Game 2 – 1932 WS G1) are the only Yankees to homer in four straight postseason games.
