WATCH: Yankees’ Aaron Boone puts on a show after ejection, imitating umpire at home plate

CHICAGO — There’s getting your money’s worth for an ejection … and then there’s what Yankees manager Aaron Boone did in the top of the eighth inning on Monday night.

After getting thrown out of the game by home plate umpire Laz Diaz, following an Anthony Volpe strikeout, Boone stormed out of the first-base dugout and erupted. He spent 30 seconds in Diaz’s face, giving him an ear full about his strike zone.

That’s when Boone took his ejection to another level. The skipper got down on one knee and drew a line with his finger several inches off the first-base side of the plate. He then rose up and hilariously imitated Diaz’s third-strike call, sticking the pose before reengaging in an argument in the ump’s face.

It took almost a full minute before Boone retreated to the dugout, still fuming.

Diaz had been calling strikes off that side of the plate all evening, some egregious misses. With the Yankees’ offense struggling mightily — they were 1-for-9 with 12 runners left on base at that point, trailing 2-1 — the frustration had reached a boiling point.
