WATCH: The moment of Munster magic that proves Cronk is now Nostradamus

Munster #Munster

Maroons legend Cooper Cronk proved he is rugby league’s version of Nostradamus after perfectly predicting how Cameron Munster would break open the Blues in Origin I.

Queensland stunned NSW with an upset 16-10 win in the Origin series opener in enemy territory, with Munster starring with a whopping 148 run metres, seven tackle busts, two offloads and a crucial linebreak that set up a try for Daly Cherry-Evans from the next scrum.

The game was evenly poised at 6-4 to Queensland at the time, before Munster’s break swung the momentum in the Maroons’ favour and they never looked back.

Rewind to Cronk’s pre-game comments on Tuesday night on NRL 360 and the champion Queensland halfback couldn’t have done a better job at predicting how Munster would exploit the NSW defenders.

“I think after the first five or ten minutes we will know if Munster is on, he generally runs from dummy-half and gets at first receiver,” Cronk said on NRL 360.

“He takes the line on, and if you think about all of his good games he has done that historically.

“The thing about Munster is when the defenders are sort of three or four spots away, and they think they aren’t under threat, well you are.

“When Queensland needs something, it is Cameron Munster… he has got the X-factor, loves the big stage and he has got the ability to break it open.”

As Cronk predicted Munster caught the Blues defenders napping and made the decisive linebreak in the 48th minute to give the Maroons field position for skipper Cherry-Evans’ 49th minute, which gave the Maroons a 12-4 advantage.

The Blues looked shell-shocked and while they clawed their way back into the contest from 16-4 down, this was the moment that broke the game open and effectively gave Queensland a 1-0 series lead.
