Four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles showed out at the first night of the U.S. Olympic gymnastic trials Friday, earning top scores in the floor, vault, and beam routines.
Biles brought the crowd to a standing ovation with a floor routine that included two of her eponymous moves, according to ESPN. The two moves, both named the “Biles,” are a double-double and a gravity-defying double backflip with three twists.
Biles also performed the double-double dismount in her beam routine, showing the crowd why she has earned the moniker GOAT (Greatest Of All Time).
While she didn’t do the newest “Biles” move, the Yurchenko double-pike vault, in her vault routine, she might bring it out for the Olympics, since she’s a shoo-in for the 2021 Olympics Gymnastics team. Biles ended the trials with a combined score of 60.565, leading almost three points ahead of second place gymnast Sunisa Lee.
Biles posted on Instagram at the end of the night reflecting on her performance. “olympic trials day 1 was a success ✨ looking forward to day 2,” the caption reads.
The 7-time U.S. all-around champion told NBC Sports after the meet, “Going into this [Trials], I know exactly what to expect. And I’m a lot more emotional this time around, which is so crazy. Even walking out, I was like tearing up and crying and the girls were like, ‘Are you OK?'”
“And I’m fine, it’s just I can’t believe the time is here. It’s been five years. I’m grateful,” she added.
