Patrick Beverley got called for a flagrant foul on Chris Paul and some experts think it was the wrong call.
Patrick Beverley is one of the toughest competitors and defenders in the NBA. His reputation may have worked against him in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals when he was called for a flagrant foul on Chris Paul.
Beverley took out Paul after trying to contest his shot. ESPN broadcaster Mark Jackson and their rules analyst, former ref Steve Javie thought the refs were incorrect in their judgment to give Beverley a flagrant foul.
The flagrant foul gave Paul three free throws and possession.
Paul sank all three free throws and on the ensuing possession assisted on an alley-oop to Deandre Ayton.
The Clippers went on an 11-3 run after the flagrant foul and Ayton basket to extend the lead to eight points in the closing minutes of the third quarter.
Suns fans are not liking Beverley much this series after a collision with Devin Booker resulted in Booker needing to wear a mask to protect his broken nose.
