Watch Oubre put KD on a poster in Warriors’ season opener
James Wiseman’s first basket in a Warriors uniform came by way of a thunderous dunk. So did Kelly Oubre Jr.’s, and his was even more impressive.
Oubre Jr. started the Warriors’ season opener against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday alongside Wiseman, Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins and Eric Paschall, and quickly showed off some incredible athleticism. Just over eight minutes into the contest, Kent Bazemore missed a 3-pointer from the wing and Oubre Jr. flew in for the putback, throwing down a powerful one-handed jam over Kevin Durant.
It got the Warriors’ bench on its feet and injected some life into Golden State after a slow start to the game. Oubre actually followed it up with another dunk on the Warriors’ next possession. He finished the first quarter with four points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal, at which time the Warriors trailed 40-25.

Oubre Jr. wasn’t in the Warriors’ plans until just over a month ago. But the pending free agent could establish himself as a key part of Golden State’s core moving forward with a strong 2020-21 season.
