Watch Mohamed Salah’s opening goal in the Merseyside Derby after a sensational counter attack by Liverpool.
Tonight’s Merseyside Derby has so far lived up to expectations. An unbelievable atmosphere has been backed up with just as much energy on the pitch, especially from the home side.
Liverpool have come out of the blocks from the first whistle, but somehow, Everton have kept the Reds out. Well, that was until a moment of brilliance from Darwin Nunez.
Sean Dyche’s men were unlucky not to open the scoring when James Tarkowski’s header bounced off the post. The clearance fell to the feet of the Uruguayan forward and oh how he punished them.
Nunez used his lightening pace to blister past the packing Blues’ defence. The speedster then brought his head up to see the run of Mohamed Salah through the middle.
An inch perfect pass was needed and an inch perfect pass was delivered by Nunez. Salah poked the ball home into an open net, after Jordan Pickford left himself in no-mans-land.

Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk, and Arthur Melo have also returned to full training and could feature though Jurgen Klopp admitted they are slightly behind the Portuguese in their rehab from injuries.
In less positive news however, Thiago Alcantara is doubtful for the clash after not being able to participate in training this week due to a hip issue.
Ibrahima Konate (hamstring) and Luis Diaz (knee) are still not available.
