Alabanian welterweight Florian Marku is starting to make a name for himself as a bit of a character, a big talker, confident (maybe arrogant), and a hard-nosed fighter.

He won today in London, beating Rylan Charlton by eighth round stoppage when Charlton’s corner threw the towel. But from that we got something I don’t think anyone can remember seeing before: Marku catching the towel, popping it on his head, and doing a quick celebratory dance:

I mean, hey, that’s new if nothing else.

The 28-year-old Marku (8-0-1, 6 KO) had to come off the canvas in the sixth round, but otherwise was the clear better fighter than Charlton (6-1-1, 3 KO), who gave a fantastic effort, charged forward all fight, but just couldn’t consistently get to Marku in the fight.

Marku also called out Conor Benn, who was ringside in attendance for the bout in London, and returns to action in April against veteran Samuel Vargas.

“Conor Benn will never risk his record with me. I’m going in there to die, and Conor Benn knows that, and he will never fight me,” Marku said. “He chooses opponents with eight losses! Someone with eight losses doesn’t care to lose one more time. But me, I’m undefeated, and Conor Benn will never choose to fight me.”
