Watch: Marcus Mariota scores his first touchdown with the Atlanta Falcons

Marcus Mariota didn’t waste any time showing his dual-threat ability for the Atlanta Falcons.

The quarterback ran and passed his way to an impressive debut during the Falcons’ game against the Detroit Lions in their preseason opener Friday night.

Mariota played in the Falcons’ opening series and he quickly displayed his ability to run and pass. He guided the Falcons on a 12-play, 82-yard drive that he completed with what was officially a 6-yard – actually 16 yards from where he started – run as he dove into the left sideline pylon for the score.

Mariota finished the night completing both of his passes for 36 yards and he ran three times for 23 yards and the touchdown.
