Dunkley #Dunkley
Voting is in full swing in the electorate of Dunkley as Labor and the Coalition go head to head for the seat in Melbourne’s south-east.
The by-election is being held following the death of Labor MP Peta Murphy last December. Labor holds the seat by a margin of 6.3 per cent.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his partner Jodie Haydon visited the electorate on Saturday morning, backing in Labor candidate Jodie Belyea.
Ms Belyea is going up against Liberal candidate Nathan Conroy, who is also the Mayor of Frankston, in a contest set to be a major test for the Albanese government.
More than 100,000 residents will cast their votes in the crucial by-election, ahead of the polls shutting at 6pm.
