Watch Lakers’ Patrick Beverley get a tech vs. Celtics for showing camera to referee

BOSTON — Patrick Beverley was having an impressive finish to the Lakers’ game against the Celtics on Saturday, including what was the go-ahead putback dunk with less than a minute to go. But the C’s tied up the score at 105, though the Lakers had one final possession with 4.1 seconds left in the game to take the lead.

That’s when LeBron James had an opening toward the bucket, but his layup came up short. But there were plenty of complaints as time expired as it appeared Jayson Tatum hit James’ arm on the layup attempt. James folded to the ground while his teammates complained about the call. Initially, there didn’t look like there was going to be a tech called in the aftermath as the game went into overtime.

However, during a stoppage in play, Beverley went up to the officials to show him a picture of the foul. He did so by showing the ref a camera, presumably with a photo of James getting fouled. But the official didn’t like it, immediately hitting Beverley with a technical. Watch what happened with Beverley and the official here.

The Celtics got a huge advantage as Tatum hit the technical foul free throw to open overtime.
