But Norris tried to steal a march on his Aussie team-mate by running.

Cheating wasn’t tolerated and Ricciardo jumped off his space hopper and hilariously bounced it off pal Norris’ head.

Ricciardo tweeted in the aftermath: “He’s ok.”

Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton joined in on the fun, replying “Is he actually?”.

Norris then took to Twitter, posting a picture of a baby doll with a squished head, feigning injury.

The McLaren duo are up there as some of F1’s most likeable drivers.

Norris says his team have always encouraged him to be himself rather than change.

The Brit says the same can’t be said for long-term pal George Russell, who has had the fun sucked out of him after joining Mercedes this season.

Norris says he doesn’t he doesn’t see as much of “the fun side” to Russell any more.

As quoted by the Independent, Norris said: “My manager, my trainer, my parents, have always tried to keep me as me, rather than try to shape me.

“I see other drivers get shaped more because of who they are with, the teams they are with, and I don’t think that is a good thing. It takes away their personality.

“Growing up with George for instance, was a lot of fun.

“He was a great person, but it is different at Mercedes – a different vibe and a different atmosphere. I just don’t see as fun a side of him.”
