Watch: Grand Prairie firefighters battle massive industrial blaze

Fire crews were battling a massive blaze in an industrial area of Grand Prairie early Wednesday.

The city’s fire department confirmed to KXAS-TV (NBC5) that the fire was in the 2000 block of West Marshall Drive, near the Bush Turnpike. The exact location was unclear.

Video from the scene showed a huge plume of black smoke billowing into the night sky, and flames could be seen near electrical transmission towers.

No further information about the blaze was immediately available.

Among the businesses in the area is Poly-America, a company that produces trash bags and other plastic products and says that it is “the most technologically advanced and largest recycler and compounder of polyethylene in the world.”
