Atlanta’s locked in a tight battle with Seattle for the series, and after taking a 1st inning lead, Mariners outfield Jarred Kelenic sent one out to right-center to tie the game at one.
So, the Braves offense got back to work.
1st baseman Matt Olson worked a one-out walk in the 3rd inning, went 1st to 3rd on a base hit to right field by Travis d’Arnaud (getting the start for a resting Sean Murphy) and Eddie Rosario came up against impressive youngster George Kirby.
The veteran Rosario took advantage of Kirby’s inexperience, taking an 0-2 changeup on the outside corner (probably not the combination of pitch and location you want in that situation) and just poked it out to center field, scoring Olson from 2nd.
Jared Shuster’s back out for the 4th, staked to a one-run lead and pitching well, minus the one mistake to Jarred Kelenic as Atlanta tries to win their second consecutive series.
