Corey Seager’s love of game-changing hits at Globe Life Field was well known after his big-time performances in the 2020 postseason.
As a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Seager delivered clutch hit after hit during the COVID-impacted season and became a champion and the World Series MVP
On Friday night, Seager delivered a blast for his current team, the Texas Rangers, in a high-leverage spot in the 2023 World Series.
Down two runs in the bottom of the ninth, Seager hit a 418-foot bomb off of Arizona Diamondbacks’ closer Paul Sewald to tie the game at five.
When the Rangers needed it most, their star shortstop delivered a huge hit to send the game into extra innings. Texas had a chance to walk off the game in the ninth, but catcher Austin Hedges — making his first at-bat in the postseason — struck out on three pitches.
Seager, usually a fairly reserved player, showed a lot of emotion as he began to round the bases. The 29-year-old threw has bat down as he screamed in excitement toward the Rangers dugout.
