CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns cornerback Mike Ford Jr. had quite a two-play sequence on Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson late in the first half on Sunday in Baltimore.
A play after delivering a hard hit to Jackson, Ford picked off the Ravens quarterback with less than a minute until halftime.
Jackson’s pass was intended for Rashod Bateman, but Ford turned on the underthrown ball and grabbed it for a crucial interception to thwart a late scoring chance for Baltimore.
On the previous play, Jackson was scrambling to his right and tried to get out of bounds. But Ford delivered a hard hit to Jackson prior to him stepping out of bounds, causing a scuffle on the Browns sideline around where Jackson was knocked down.
The hit was not flagged because Jackson was still in bounds.
The Browns did not score prior to halftime as they passed up a 60-yard field goal attempt and P.J. Walker, who came in while Deshaun Watson went to the locker room with a limp, threw a Hail Mary that was incomplete.
