Watch: Braves’ Austin Riley blasts moonshot nearly out of Citi Field

When Atlanta Braves slugger Austin Riley gets a hold of a baseball, he can practically crush it out of the yard. We saw that on Sunday Night Baseball when Riley blasted a moonshot that nearly left Citi Field.
The Braves were already coasting during a blowout against the New York Mets, holding an 11-1 lead in the sixth inning. When Corey Oswalt hung a slider, Riley sent it towering through the sky and watched as it smacked off the railing of the third deck.
While the solo blast might not have reached the heights of the Empire State Building, the baseball rocketed through the air at an absurd 111 mph exit velocity and goes down as one of the longest home runs hit this season.
While Riley might not hit for a high average, the 23-year-old packs some ridiculous punch in his bat. With the National League adding the designated hitter this season, we should see plenty of more jaw-dropping blasts coming from Riley this season.
