Watch: Bijan Robinson continues to shred Colorado defense
Bijan #Bijan
To say true freshman running back Bijan Robinson is a difference maker in the 2020 Valero Alamo Bowl would be an understatement.
The first-year RB has made his presence felt when given the opportunity against Colorado, with the latest impressive play coming out of halftime.
After senior QB Sam Ehlinger left the game with a shoulder injury, redshirt sophomore Casey Thompson came in for Ehlinger and was set up perfectly on his first drive of the game when he handed the ball off to Robinson, who then took it for 79 yards into the Colorado red zone, as seen in the below video.
The big gain was far from the only impressive play by Robinson against the Buffaloes. The freshman running back wrapped up the first quarter with five carries for 91 yards and a rushing TD, in addition to adding a 14-yard receiving touchdown in the same quarter.
Fourth-year head coach Tom Herman has been very successful during his time at Texas when his teams play in bowl games. The Longhorns are 3-0 under Herman’s watch, and look to move to 4-0 in bowl games come Tuesday evening.
“We’re really, really fired up to be back on the field with our guys these last couple of days. It has been a ton of fun,” Herman said during his Alamo Bowl press conference. “The guys are excited about actually having an opponent.
“The kids are flying around, having fun, smiling. It is really fun to be around them.”
