Watch: Bernardo Silva Puts Manchester City Ahead On Aggregate Against Real Madrid
Bernardo #Bernardo
Bernardo Silva has scored in the first half to give Manchester City the lead against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.
City started on the front foot and were all over Real Madrid with Thibaut Courtois having to make two fantastic saves to deny Erling Haaland scoring with his head.
Real Madrid just continued to sit back and eventually after just 23 minutes Kevin De Bruyne found Bernardo Silva as free as a bird in the box before the Portuguese international hammered the ball past Courtois at his near post to give Pep Guardiola’s side the lead on the night and in the tie.
It was a very well deserved opening goal after Los Blancos had under 25% possession emphasising just how poor they had been in the opening stages of the game.
